Dear A+ Parent/Guardian:
As you are aware, Missouri’s economy is struggling, and this affects our educational programs, including A+.
The Department of Higher Education (DHE) now administers the scholarship portion of the A+ Program, which had been handled by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in years past.  With this change, it is possible that we could see some changes in the A+ incentive.
Please keep in mind that funding for the A+ Program can change from one year to the next, and that there are no guarantees of the program’s existence from year to year.
We at Gallatin High School will continue to encourage our students to participate in the A+ Program, and monitor the requirements of each student in the program, but wanted to make parents aware that there is a possibility that changes could be coming, and that there are no guarantees.
Because the A+ Program was established by Missouri Law, I believe your best resource is our state legislators.  If the program is important to the future of your student, please feel free to contact them.
